Shop till ya drop!

So how was your holiday? Did you eat a lot of good food? Find a lot of great deals?

Our Thanksgiving was fine. TheCount plays in the Turkey Bowl every year so I was just glad he came home injury free :) We went to his best friend's house for our first meal and our follow up dinner was at his momma's house. At one house the food was good, at the other house it wasn't- we'll leave it at that. This was my first Thanksgiving without my family :( My dad's side decided to have the family reunion this Thanksgiving down in Myrtle Beach. I refuse to travel for holiday's, especially Thanksgiving, so we didn't go. The traffic just isn't worth it to me to be out on the road (my theory was right, my parents were stuck in 5 mph traffic for hours coming back home- and they came back on Saturday). I also am not the biggest fannof my daddy's side. They never seem to know what to say out of their mouths and I didn't want to stay in a house with all of them.

At midnight on Black Friday we went to the outlets. I find that I get much better deals in the store than I do online. I won't go through everything I got, but lets just say I went crazy, and TheCount let me. I was honestly waiting for him to tell me it was time to go. I don't know what was going on in that generous heart of his. Perhaps it was the fact that he just got a raise! The highlight of my little shopping trip was Ann Taylor Loft. I have recently fallen in love with this store, two weeks ago I got 2 skirts from Loft for $13 each. Well Friday I got (drumroll please).........a lovely $128 blazer for $17.92, a $79.50 dress for 11.93, and a black button down shirt for $11.93 (I don't feel like getting up to see the original cost). I walked out of that store grinning from ear to ear. You couldn't tell me I didn't accomplish greatness. I got some other stuff from Esprit, Radio Shack, and Sears. I had so much fun shopping with TheCount, which is quite rare. I will say, if he weren't with me, I would have gotten much more stuff, so I'm glad he was there to remind me of reality.

After a 3 hour nap, we got up at 9am to go buy a car! As much as I teased TheCount about how girly the Pacifica looks- the inside is oh so lovely. The black leather seats, all the leg room, oh how heavenly. Once I load the software for my new camera (told y'all I went crazy shopping) on my computer, I'll post pictures!

And on the Sabbath, I rested

Even though my body was determined not to cooperate, I had a wonderful weekend! Friday night I did my hair in flexi rods because I wanted to try something new. They came out very nice. On Saturday I slept in (as I always do) and then hubby and I went to my office cookout. It was so funny because hardly anybody recognized me. The ones that did had to do a double take. I had curls, makeup, and a cute outfit on, all things rarely done at work. I guess I'll have to really step my game up and put on some makeup at work because I really did feel pretty. The food was delicious as always and TheCount even tossed around the football with a few of the guys. I realized that one of my coworkers needs to be nominated for unfit mother of the year award. She has a one year old that she couldn't quite keep an eye on. TheCount was like, ummm, who is this little boy and why is he about to climb this hill alone. I looked around and didn't see any parents around so I went to help him. When his ma saw I had him she came over and was like, ohhh yeah, I'm supposed to be watching him. She said that about 10 more time during the course of the day. When TheCount and I were leaving we saw the little boy walking alone down a path. Then he starts running full speed at a moving vehicle. The workers were looking around for any parents, but were scared to grab him. I looked, saw his mom had no idea he wasn't with her and went running at full speed towards him. I tell ya, only for children will I run. The driver of the vehicle saw him and the worker was standing at the part of the path that led down to the stream so the baby couldn't fall in. I ran over scooped him up and began walking him back to his mom. When I got there, she was like, "I was supposed to be watching him! I was too busy running my mouth." I don't think she even knew where I picked her son up from. Good times. I fell asleep in the car and woke up at the mall. We went to say hello to his old coworkers at the jewelry store and one of them was like "ohhh Count, we got those earrings in, here, buy them for TM." LOL gotta love old people, he got them for me, they match the necklace I got for Valentine's day. After we left there we went to Best Buy. We always go through the laptop section and we were playing with a few when I saw another open box sign (that's how we got our big screen tv for $250). It was an open box laptop for $350. He brough it out so I could look at it and we played around with it for a while and TheCount and I provided comic relief for the store employees. He tried to bust me out on how I am the laptop killer and I couldn't do to much of anything because I was all of a sudden burning up and choking. I had to pick up a sign and sit down and fan myself. We ended up getting the laptop and as he was ringing it up, the dude was like, hey, it's actually $319! Woot woot! For a 14 inch, 2GB, 240 the-other-important-thing laptop, I was excited. I've been having a ball on my new computer, especially since I haven't been able to leave the house since returning from the mall. I couldn't go to church sunday because these every 5 minute choking episodes were not going to fly in the sanctuary. I have been sleep alllllll day long. I guess my body needs to rest in order to get this crap out. The pressure in my head and neck is really annoying, it feels like they are going to explode, but I have a lavender chamomile bead thing that goes on my head and it is wonderful and warm and everybody should have one. I've been so uncomfortable I've been sitting around in just undies all day. I seriously can't take anything else. Well I stink so I'm going to take a bath with my bath salts that I made last week and go back to bed.

No work for TM or TheCount!

This weekend I spent a lot of time with TheCounts friends. It's a good thing I like those dudes! On Friday I spent my ride home driving through neighborhoods looking at dream homes. It was so fun! I found the perfect neighborhood for me, a horse community! I was driving through and I was like wait a minute...they have a horse in their backyard. I was just cheesing as I drove through as I told myself, "I found my new home!" When we get a couple million dollars in the bank, I am getting one of those houses, surprisingly, not one home was for sale in that neighborhood.

On Saturday we woke up and went to the Amish Market. Since we went so late, it was packed and all we got were some pretzels and then we rolled out. I asked TheCount if he thought they would sell my roasted pecans. Shoot, my sugar roasted pecans can launch us into millionaire status! We went over to visit his friend that's getting married in May at work. They were up in veri/zon talking trash and goofing around, which led to a video game challenge that night at our house. Since TheCount realized all of his friends would probably be coming over, he took me to a mall I had never been to to appease me. Y'all I got 4opi nail polishes and a headband for $11! I can find a bargain anywhere, lol. All of his friends came over that night and we had a smorgasboard of Chipotle, Cosi, McDonald's, Pasta Blitz, and Subaway, lol. I went into the bedroom while they played their games. When I woke up I found these greedy dudes went and got a gallon of ice cream and a tub of cookies. Know what they left at our house? A gallon of ice cream and a tub of ice cream, why do they want me to be fat????

Oh yeah, we went back to the mall with his friends so it was me and 4 dudes. Since I hang with good looking guys the girlies were all up in their faces and mugging in mine (like little girls, lol. The ones that were actually age appropriate weren't worried about me). But the kicker was, I kept seeing girls in the mall with bonnets on. Like the ones you sleep in. Is this a new trend I'm not aware of? This chick had the nerve to side eye me. I was like ummmmm, who are you side eyeing at the mall in your finest bedtime gear? These dudes definitely aint checking for you. All of their girlfriends must go through me, and hanging at the mall looking ready for bed is a huge no no!

Last night I was texting with one of his friends about the ill.umi.nati and wit.ches and wiz.ards. We were having some good conversation! His friend is a conspiracy theorist like none other! After a while I was like, well look, I'm just going to plead the blood of Jesus and keep on going about my business. I don't have time to be walking around thinking that every di.sney movie is about mi.nd con.trol and that Hil.ary Cli.nton and Bi.lly Gra.ham are part of a huge conspiracy theory. Seriously folks, you'll go crazy researching that stuff (although it was entertaining). He said he's going to keep studying up on it and then let me know what he finds.

Today we are having a snow day!!!!! I may go in later (although I doubt it!) just for the sake of going. It is really coming down although it is nowhere near the 6-10 inches they said we were going to get, but hey, I'll take an inch or 4 if it means nobody expects me to be at work.

Did it snow where you are? Are you taking a chill day?
